Internship at The Myer Foundation

January 27, 2010

David Hardie is The Myer Foundation’s intern for 2010.

A student at the Centre for Philanthropy and Non Profit Studies (CPNS)  at Queensland University of Technology, David joins us following a career in the NSW public service, followed by a period of significant change in which he made the move to the non profit community sector. David has been undertaking the Graduate Certificate in Business at CPNS and his most recent role was with Mercy Works Inc in Sydney, within the refugee program.

This is the second year that The Myer Foundation has joined with QUT’s Centre for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies to offer a six month, full time internship. The internship program is designed to provide opportunities for a post graduate student to develop their knowledge and practical understanding of philanthropy and to develop their own career goals. It is designed also to increase The Myer Foundation’s opportunities to learn about contemporary issues in philanthropy and the nonprofit sector.

David will work across all grant making programs of The Myer Foundation and participate in sectoral and organisational meetings and events. He will have the opportunity to develop a project idea for funding, and to work on a major piece of research in a field of his interest.

The Myer Foundation looks forward to contributing to David’s development in the philanthropic sector, and to his contribution to our work and that of the organisations we support.
