A Special Grants Program of The Myer Foundation

The G4 provides opportunities for the fourth generation of the Myer Family to increase their knowledge and experience of philanthropy.

LARGE GRANTS PROGRAM

Please note that we have identified a range of projects in the area of Youth Mental Health and are fully committed to the development of these exciting opportunities for the next 3 - 5 years.


SMALL GRANTS PROGRAM

The G4 Small Grants Program aims to be responsive to community needs and to support youth focussed initiatives and driven strategies across a range of areas.

The G4 Small Grants Program only supports small community based organisations.

G4 supports projects that:
 

  • Benefit the Australian community and are conducted within Australia
  • Have young men and women, aged 12-25, as participants, drivers or targets of the initiative
  • Are small, discrete initiatives with a total project budget of up to $30,000 that meet the needs
        of a community

    The priority areas for the G4 Small Grants Program include but are not limited to:

  • Capacity building for youth organisations
  • Environmental education targeting and involving young people aged 12-25 years
  • Youth-driven events
  • Activities and initiatives addressing the health of young people

    Applications submitted to the Small Grants Program are considered at four meetings during the year and are accepted in the lead up to specified closing dates.

    Applications Open: The G4 Small Grants Program is now accepting applications for funding. The closing date for submitting applications is Tuesday 30 June 2009.

    - Tuesday 30 June 2009
    - Tuesday 27 October 2009

    Applications may be postmarked the closing date.

    Limitation: Organisations can only receive one grant from the G4 Small Grants Program within a 12-month period.

    Grant size:
    Grants are capped at $5,000.  The requested amount may be part of a larger budget of up to $30,000.

    Number of applications: Only one application can be considered per applicant. This includes applications submitted to other funding areas within either The Myer Foundation or the Sidney Myer Fund. Exceptions are made when m
    ultiple applications are received from universities and other large organisations where they represent different faculties, departments or schools, and the proposals are unrelated.
