We make grants across Australia for general charitable purposes in accordance with our vision to improve peoples’ lives in lasting and positive ways.
Between 2006 and 2010, there will be a stronger focus on achieving change by making larger grants over longer periods of time.
Through the Large Grants Program, more resources is targeted to fund strategies that we believe will help us to achieve our objectives.
There is also a Small Grants Program that ensures we fund initiatives in response to community needs. Resources are targeted to provide support for smaller scale projects.
THE LARGE GRANTS PROGRAM
Large grants is made in six areas:
The Arts and Humanities
Beyond Australia
Education
G4 (a funding program of the Fourth Generation of the Myer family)
Poverty and Disadvantage
Sustainability and the Environment
Within each of these areas, large grants are made, for up to 3-5 years, to support services and projects that could make a substantial impact on our understanding of, response to, or prevention of, issues in these areas.
We have identified a range of projects for each of the above areas and we are fully committed to the development of these opportunities for the next 3 to 5 years.
We do not seek applications for the Large Grants Program, but work with organisations to develop appropriate projects.
THE SMALL GRANTS PROGRAM
The objectives of the Small Grants Program are:
To stay in touch with community needs
To be flexible for the benefit of the community
To provide a quick response to community needs
Small grants are made in four areas:
The Arts and Humanities
Education
G4 (a funding program of the Fourth Generation of the Myer family)
Poverty and Disadvantage
